Following are thumbnail summaries of selected 2018 cases for which multimedia and video presentations were provided.

2nd Degree Murder Reduced to Misdemeanor Assault

In this case, the client was a bouncer at a bar who was harassed on the sidewalk outside the bar by a patron. The client eventually struck the patron, who fell into an oncoming car. The State brought charges of 2nd Degree Murder on the theory that client had used the oncoming car as a weapon. The video was able to clearly demonstrate the fallacy of the government theory. Bank Fraud With Guidelines of 24 Months Reduced to 10 Months Home Confinement

This is a sentencing mitigation video prepared for a client who was  accused of bank fraud. Sentencing Guidelines in this case were 24 months custody. The government sought 24 months custody.  Client received 10 months home confinement.  LINK TO PASSWORD PROTECTED VIDEO

Bribery of a Public Official Resolved Via Diversion, No Custody, No Criminal Record

Client was accused of bribery of an IRS agent. Guidelines were 3-5 years. The plea negotiation presentation video was presented to the AUSAs and supervisors. Case was resolved with diversion, no custody, no felony record for the client.  LINK TO PASSWORD PROTECTED VIDEO.

Involuntary Servitude With 3-5 Year Exposure Resolved Via Probation

Client was a Filipino-American,  age 79,  and her daughter. Both were under investigation for involuntary servitude arising out of a longtime household member who was undocumented and not paid a regular salary for household work. A pre-indictment VLA presentation resulted in no charges to the daughter and the mother pleading guilty to a single count felony with probation, no custodial sentence.  LINK TO PASSWORD PROTECTED VIDEO
